ParentKind is a Portland-based resale business with a simple premise: families donate bags of outgrown kids' clothes, we clean and sell them online, and a meaningful percentage of every sale goes to the school the donor chose. No asking families for money. No buying wrapping paper. Just clearing out a closet and funding the PTA.
Our porch pickup service covers SE Portland directly. If your school is outside that boundary, a one-week donation drive is the most direct way to participate — and everything you'd need to run it comes from us.
We drop off a branded table and signage before the drive starts. You don't need to source anything.
We'll give you a simple template. Families who have outgrown kids' clothes just drop them in a bag and bring them to school that week.
After drop-off, a volunteer moves the bags to a storage spot inside the school — a closet or corner works fine. That's the main ask during the week.
We collect the full haul at the end of the drive. From there, we do all the sorting, cleaning, photography, and listing.
As items sell in our online store, a meaningful percentage goes directly to your school's PTA. Sales happen over time, so the funding continues after the drive ends.
