Get Involved

Become a Neighborhood Captain.

You don't have to live inside our service area to be part of this. If you believe in what we're doing, there's a role for you.

ParentKind is built on a simple idea: outgrown kids' clothes shouldn't end up in a landfill, and local schools shouldn't have to beg for money. The more parents who participate—donating clothes, shopping used, spreading the word—the more meaningful the impact becomes.

Our porch pickup service runs in SE Portland right now, but the mission doesn't stop at the edge of the map. Neighborhood Captains are parents who believe in what we're building and want to bring it to their corner of the city.

We're not looking for a rigid volunteer role. We're looking for people who want to make something happen in their community.

There's no single way to be a Neighborhood Captain. You might rally your neighbors to collect donation bags. You might open your porch as a neighborhood drop-off point. You might have a relationship with a local PTA that would be a perfect fit. Whatever your angle, we'd love to work out a plan with you.

Ways to Get Involved

There's more than one way
to make a difference.

🏘️

Rally Your Neighbors

The simplest way to start: let the families around you know about ParentKind. Help collect donation bags from your block, your building, or your friend group. When you have a batch ready, we'll coordinate a pickup or drop-off.

📦

Be a Drop-Off Point

Open your porch as a neighborhood collection spot. Neighbors drop bags with you, you let us know when there's a haul ready, and we handle it from there. No sorting, no effort beyond saying yes.

🤝

Connect Us With Your School

Know someone on your school's PTA? Have a relationship with a principal or parent community? A warm introduction is one of the most valuable things a Neighborhood Captain can do—for their school and for ParentKind.

A little something for your effort.

First access to the store. When our online shop opens in spring 2027, Neighborhood Captains get in before the public.

A discount code, just for you. We'll send you a personal discount to use whenever you shop—a small thank-you for the work you put in.

Let's make a plan.

Every neighborhood is different. Tell us a little about where you are and what you're thinking, and we'll figure out together what makes sense for your community.
