What should I expect when I bring items in?
Most consignment shops limit how much you can bring at once. Beanstalk, for example, caps consignment at two grocery-sized bags or one large tote per visit per week. Shops are also selective about condition, brand, and season: items with any stains, wear, or the wrong season for the current shelf space commonly get turned away on the spot. That's simply how the consignment model works; the shop is choosing inventory it's confident it can resell. But it does mean parents who expect the store to take most of what they bring in are often surprised to instead leave with a bin of rejected clothes to deal with elsewhere.
